Made with fresh coconut, green chillies, and roasted chana dal, this chutney is creamy, mildly spicy, and incredibly aromatic.

Ingredients
  • Grated Coconut – Β½ cup (125 ml)

  • Green Chillies – 3–5

  • Ginger – Β½ inch

  • Roasted Chana Dal (Chutney Dal) – β…› cup (30 ml)

  • Salt – as per taste

  • Water – Β½ glass

Preparation Method

In a mixer jar, add Β½ cup grated coconut, 3–5 green chillies, and Β½ inch ginger.

Close the lid and grind into a smooth and fine paste.

  • Mustard Seeds – Β½ tsp

  • Urad Dal – Β½ tsp

  • Chana Dal – Β½ tsp

  • Red Chilli – 1

  • Curry Leaves – 1 bunch

Grinding the Chutney

Heat a kadai on medium flame.

Pour 1 tbsp oil.

add Β½ tsp mustard seeds, Β½ tsp urad dal, and Β½ tsp chana dal.
