This yummy Kanda bhaji is the best evening snack with a hot cup of tea.

Crispy Onion Pakoda/Kanda Bhajiya/Onion Fritters, is a very famous street food snack in India. Made with sliced onions, gram flour/besan and chillies served hot with green chutney or tomato ketchup. This yummy Kanda bhaji is the best evening snack with a hot cup of tea.
Ingredients:
Sliced Onion - 4
Besan / Gram flour - 1 cup
Rice flour - β cup
Chilli powder - Β½ tbsp
Cooking soda - Β½ tsp
Salt - Β½ tsp
Garlic (crushed) - 5-8 cloves (optional)
Green chilli - 3- 4

Preparation Method:
In a bowl, Sieve besan and rice flour with a strainer

Add Β½ tbsp of chilli powder,

Β½ tsp of cooking soda,

Β½ tsp of salt and mix well

Add the crushed garlic (optional), Onions and mix well.

Note:- Use less amount of water. Onions also lose water, so if the batter is watery, the bhajiya will become oily.
Once the batter is ready
Heat the oil in a Kadai.

Drop a small amount of batter slowly into the oil.

Deep fry, turn over in between

Take 3-4 green chillies, slit in between, and deep fry. (add a little salt to chillies if required)
Once well fried, remove it from the oil

Serve hot with green chutney (Pudina chutney), tomato chutney or tomato sauce, or mayonnaise. Enjoy with a hot cup of Tea.

That's it. Your "Kanda bhajiya" is ready.
