How to make Rava Upma | Rava Kichadi | Sooji Upma | Quick Breakfast

"Elevate Your Breakfast Game with Our Delicious Rava Upma Kichadi Recipe! 🌟🍲

Rava Upma Kichadi, is the most common South Indian breakfast dish. When cooked simple & plain, it becomes boring, but when enriched with spicy vegetables and ghee, it makes it nutritious and tastes delicious. A perfect dish for breakfast accompanied by a hot steaming filter coffee! 🌟🍲

Ingredients:

Rava - 1 cup ( 250ml )

Oil - 4 tbsp

Mustard seeds - Β½ tsp

Chana dal - Β½ tbsp

Urad dal - 1 tsp

Ginger ( chopped ) - 1 tbsp

Onion ( chopped ) - 1

Curry leaves - 1 bunch

Dry chilli - 3 no

Carrot/beans ( chopped ) - 1 cup

Green peas - Β½ cup

Salt - as per taste

Water - 3 cups ( 750 ml)

Preparation Method:

Heat the pan and add 4 tbsp of oil

Β½ tsp of mustard seeds

1 tsp of urad dal mix till it turns golden brown

Β½ tbsp of chana dal

Then add 1 tbsp of chopped ginger

One chopped onion and mix it well

One bunch of curry leaves

Three red chilies and mix them well

Note:- you can add green chilies as per taste

Once the onion turns soft, Add 1 cup of chopped carrot and beans

Mix it well and add some salt

Β½ cup of green peas

Close with a lid and cook for 5 minutes on medium-low flame

Once the vegetables become soft, add 1 cup ( 250ml ) of Rava

Mix well for 5-10 minutes

Add salt as per taste

Mix till the Rava gets slightly roasted

Once roasted, pour 3 cups (750 ml)of boiled water and mix it well

Close with a lid and cook for 10-15 minutes on medium-low flame

That's it. Your "Rava kichadi/upma" is ready.
