Quick Crispy Kanda Bhajiya | Onion Pakoda | Onion Fritters
A Perfect Evening Snack with Hot Tea βπ§ π₯

Kanda Bhajiya, also known as Onion Pakoda or Onion Fritters, is a very popular and loved Indian street food snack. Made using thinly sliced onions, gram flour (besan), rice flour, and spices, this crispy snack is best enjoyed hot and fresh.

Ingredients
Sliced Onion - 4
Besan / Gram flour - 1 cup
Rice flour - β cup
Chilli powder - Β½ tbsp
Cooking soda - Β½ tsp
Salt - Β½ tsp
Garlic (crushed) - 5-8 cloves (optional)
Green chilli - 3- 4
Oil β for deep frying

Preparation Method
In a mixing bowl, sieve the besan and rice flour using a strainer.

Add Β½ tablespoon chilli powder, Β½ teaspoon cooking soda, and Β½ teaspoon salt. Mix well.

Add the crushed garlic (optional) and the sliced onions, and mix everything thoroughly.

Note: Use very little water. Onions naturally release water. If the batter becomes watery, the bhajiyas will absorb more oil and turn greasy.
Frying the Kanda Bhajiya
Heat oil in a kadai over medium flame.

Slowly drop small portions of the batter into the hot oil.

Deep fry the bhajiyas, turning them occasionally, until they become golden brown and crispy.

After frying the bhajiyas, take 3β4 green chillies, slit them in the middle, and deep fry them.
(Add a little salt to the chillies if required.)
Once well fried, remove them from the oil.

Thatβs it! Your crispy Kanda Bhajiya is ready to serve.

Food is not just about taste; itβs about sharing joy, warmth, and memories.
May this simple Kanda Bhajiya bring happiness to your home and make your tea time extra special βπ§
