Ingredients
  • Ragi Flour (Nachni) – 1 cup (250 ml) + Β½ cup (125 ml)

  • Rice Flour – Β½ cup (125 ml)

  • Onion (chopped) – 2

  • Coriander Leaves & Curry Leaves (chopped) – 1 cup

  • Cooking Soda – ΒΌ tsp

  • Salt – as per taste

  • Cumin Seeds (Jeera) – 1 tsp

  • Oil – 1 tbsp

In a mixing bowl, sieve 1Β½ cups of ragi flour (nachni) and Β½ cup of rice flour using a strainer.

Add: 2 chopped onions, 2–4 chopped green chillies and 1 cup chopped coriander and curry leaves

1 tbsp oil and 1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)

Add water little by little and mix well to form a thick batter.

Once mixed, cover the bowl with a lid and rest the batter for 10–15 minutes.

Frying the Ragi Bonda

Heat oil in a kadai over medium flame.

Once the oil is hot, slowly drop small portions of the ragi batter into the oil.

Deep fry the bondas, turning them in between, until they are evenly cooked and golden brown.

Remove from oil and drain excess oil.
